Emotional Management workshop

This two-hour workshop will provide you with an opportunity to learn about what Psychology and neuroscience can teach us about the role of emotion in learning and memory, the physiology of emotions and what psychology can teach us about how to manage them.

You will learn about the physiology of the human stress response and explore whether Star Trek’s Spock and the Vulcans could have evolved without any emotions at all. We will discuss the extent to which emotions are a universal characteristic of humans and how emotional expression changes depending upon the culture we are brought up in.

We will also investigate what is meant by basic and higher emotions, and the role of genetic inheritance and social conditioning in their development.
